In drafting it, I used changes in color to indicate changes in direction of crochet.  I also used a different color for elongated hdc's to indicate where sc's were made in earlier rows.

Instructions:

Row 1: 7sc in foundation w. 3ch in between

Row 5: begin w ss in sc and next 4 dc's

             turn to begin row 6

Note Change in Color

Row 6:  Make 4 petals and turn for Row 7

Note Change in Color

Row 7:  sc between sc's of row 4, as indicated by straight line

Row 8 : Big shells (dc, 9 tr, dc)

Note  the Release 2 version of SymblCro has builtin elongated stitches, and the Advanced version allows you to insert arrows and labels into your pattern.
